My name is John Doyle and I am a technology professional that has become extremely passionate about Social Media. I am the Director of Technology & Communications for Alure Home Improvements which is based on Long Island and services the NY Metro/Tri-State area. I have been with Alure since 2003. I also manage the Social Media intitiative for Alure. I have attended such expos as the Web 2.o Expo NYC and the Inbound Marketing Summit Boston as well as many others on a local level. In 2010 I was privileged to be among the presenters at the Inbound Marketing Summit – Boston. I also speak with business and community groups about how social networking can be useful at a personal as well as professional level.
A life long resident of a tiny village on the North Shore of Long Island, which is where I cuurently live with my wife and two sons. I am active in my community serving as a coach in Little League Baseball as well as basketball. I have also been a member of my towns Fire Department since 1982 and have the distinguished honor as being elected to the posts of President, Chief and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Only five members in the 90 years history of the department have had the honor of all three positions.
Why 14str8?
I played slo-pitch softball for 20 plus years and during that time, was a member on 14 straight league championship teams. Myself and three others were the only ones to play on all 14 teams so I figured I better hijack the handle before one of them did!!
Among my other interests are: my faith, University of Notre Dame, golf, boating, reading.
